The Grant's Gazelle (Nanger granti) is one of Africa's most iconic open-plains antelope — large, fast, and immediately recognizable by its long, lyrate horns and clean white and tan coloring. - Grant's Gazelles are native to the open savannas and grasslands of East Africa, ranging from Ethiopia and Kenya down through Tanzania.
- They are one of the larger gazelle species, with mature males standing up to 38 inches at the shoulder and weighing between 110–180 lbs.
- Both males and females carry horns — males develop long, sweeping lyrate horns that can reach 25–32 inches, making them highly sought after for trophy programs.
- They are highly heat-tolerant and have adapted well to the arid and semi-arid conditions found across much of Texas.
